From Sleepless Nights to Top Talent: My Journey Through Digital Skills for Jobs

 

As a recipient of the prestigious Top Talents Award, I am incredibly honored and grateful to be recognized for my hard work and dedication. Winning this award was the result of a year-long commitment to the Digital Skills for Jobs program, where I spent countless hours building my digital skills, developing my personal brand, and honing my entrepreneurial skills. Although it was a challenging journey that often required me to sacrifice sleep and leisure time, it was all worth it in the end.

Being named a Top Talent of DS4Jobs is a true testament to my commitment to supporting and solving problems in my community. It serves as a reminder that my efforts and hard work have not gone unnoticed and motivates me to continue pursuing my goals with even greater passion and determination. Whether through entrepreneurship or community service, I am eager to use my skills and talents to make a positive impact on the world.

I owe much of my success to SIMAD Innovation Lab, which has been instrumental in supporting young Somali Change Makers like myself. The lab provides a wealth of resources and opportunities for young people to develop their skills and pursue their passions. Without the support of SIMAD and other organizations like it, I would not have been able to achieve my goals and make a positive impact on my community.

Moreover, the Digital Skills for Jobs program has been a game-changer for me and many other young people like me. It has equipped us with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. By providing us with the tools we need to thrive, the program has helped us to build our personal brands, work as freelancers, and pursue our entrepreneurial dreams. As a Top Talent of DS4Jobs, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to use the skills and knowledge I have gained to make a positive impact on society.
